Your graphs illustrated how an spectrograph setup could compensate for distortions in the detectors lack of linearity. Knowing these detector characteristics one can post-process the power frequency spectrum to reflect the spectrum signature of the source more accurately. As for addressing my non-flat universe. Specifically, my model evolves an ever-expanding spherical universe (a possibility classically overlooked by FLRW-metric) where the duration of a second and the length of a meter grow in lockstep of each other. Thus, the ratio of Planck Length/Planck time is always the Speed of Light (c = l_P/t_P).
I’ve previously looked at Julian Barbour’s “Janus Point” theory but was put off that he seemed to discard Einstein’s Relativity theory which I keep, but augment with the idea of the number of Planck units per second account for the time-differential in the gradient of a gravitational field. He has time varying and even reversing at the Big Bang event. So, one of the consequences of John’s non-flat universe was the idea of non-constant time that is being evaluated by professional physicists. I have not seen much more about this idea after Barbour introduced it years ago and can’t know if the idea is gaining in fashion or not. It is neat that different starting points often result in similar predictions. But one thing more that I think John has to do is fill in more how we can determine that the universe is not flat, given all the observational data that indicates a flat universe. In the Intro to Astrophysics video we all watched we saw how the structure of the universe was established by using parallax, cepheid variables and finally type 1a supernovas to set the size and flatness of the universe. Further work with the CMB also points to a flat structure. I missed how John’s approach is able to circumvent this large amount of data. Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t get it.
