(09.07.1937 - 22.02.2006)
Professor, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, leading researcher at the Department of Intelligent Applied Systems of the Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence and the Philosophical Society of Russia, member of the International Federation of Artists and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. In 1959, A.A. Zenkin graduated from the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. From 1968 to 1993, he climbed the main steps of the engineering and scientific ladder (engineer, research fellow, associate professor of the Chemistry Department of Moscow State University). Then, from 1993 to 1995, A.A. Zenkin worked as a senior research fellow at the Russian Research Institute for Regional Problems, and from 1996 until his final days, he actively worked at the Computing Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1974, Alexander Alexandrovich Zenkin was awarded the academic degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, in 1982 he received the academic title of Senior Research Fellow in the specialty "Mathematical Support for Computers and Systems", in 1991 - the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical Technology, and in 1993 he defended his doctoral dissertation.
Alexander Alexandrovich received his Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences degree for his work in number theory, a field he actively pursued for most of his long academic career. A.A. Zenkin was an active teacher in the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University. He is the author of over 200 scientific papers published in the most prestigious Russian and international journals.
A.A. Zenkin is a renowned scientist (chemist and mathematician). His main scientific achievements were related to a generalization of Hilbert's well-known theorem in number theory, which provided a complete solution to the classical Waring conjecture. He is the originator of a new field called "Cognitive Graphics." As part of this development, A.A. Zenkin developed and implemented (together with his son, who actively and fruitfully assisted Alexander Alexandrovich in his work) several computer systems based on the ideas and methods of cognitive graphics.
